T&R PCU1-SP mk3 Primary Current Injection System
The PCU1-SP mk3 Primary Current Injection Test System is a medium-powered instrument that enables output currents of up to 5000A (11.5kVA for 40 seconds). The system comprises a separate control unit housing all metering and control functions, paired with a loading unit (such as the NLU200, NLU2000, or NLU5000) responsible for delivering the high current output.
This system is ideal for primary current injection, stability testing, and circuit breaker testing, while also offering direct-reading CT ratio and polarity tests. It includes a 100A secondary injection output and features loading units with multiple output taps (except NLU200) to accommodate a wide range of load impedances.
The control unit has an 11.5kVA rating and can handle 2-second overload capabilities of up to 23kVA using pulse mode. All metering functions are digital and accurate, featuring a memory function that retains the current reading even after the output trips or is switched off. The system utilizes a reliable solid-state device to control the current, which automatically shuts off when the device under test trips.
The PCU1-SP mk3 also features a high-accuracy timing system with a 1ms resolution. It offers automatic selection for normally open or normally closed contacts, with the status displayed on the front panel. Various timing modes are provided for testing under and over current devices, re-closers, under and over voltage devices, current trips, and circuit breakers.
To ensure optimal performance, a comprehensive range of high-current output leads is available. Leads for the NLU2000 are available in lengths from 1.5m to 5m, while leads for the NLU5000 are available in 1.5m and 3m variants.
