The Socket & See PDL PRO features a large backlit display that illuminates when the tester is switched on and during testing, ensuring easy operation in poorly lit areas. The unit automatically powers off after approximately 3 minutes of inactivity and includes a secure protective rubber boot to withstand everyday bumps and scrapes. For additional safety, the PDL PRO is fully protected against accidental phase-to-phase connection.
 
Using a true impedance technique, the PDL PRO provides accurate measurements of Prospective Fault Current (PFC) and calculates Prospective Short Circuit (PSC) in the event of a short circuit between live conductors.
 
Test Sequences:
 
Loop No Trip L-E
 This is a 3-wire test to measure Zs where the circuit is protected by an RCD. To reduce the chance of nuisance tripping, non-essential electrical equipment should be disconnected.
 
Loop High Current L-E
 The High current test is used to measure Ze at the distribution board downstream of any RCD or Zs where the circuit is not protected by an RCD.
 
High Resolution L-E / L-N
 These tests are used to measure Ze or Zs where the circuit is not protected by an RCD, with results displayed to 1 mΩ resolution.
 
Hands-Free
 The hands-free function can be used with any loop measurement. Once selected via the rotary dial and the "HANDS FREE" button, the test will trigger automatically once correct voltage and polarity are confirmed.
 
Volts L-N / L-E / N-E
 Voltage L-N is the default setting. The display can be toggled to show L-E or N-E voltages both before and after a loop test is performed.
 
PFC / PSC
 After a loop test is completed, the calculated Prospective Fault Current (PFC) and Prospective Short Circuit (PSC) can be displayed by selecting the appropriate mode.
 
Polarity Test Pad
 By touching the touchpad area, the user can identify potentially dangerous polarity reversals. If the LED flashes RED and a warning tone sounds, a fault exists.
 
The Socket & See PDL PRO is fully BS EN 61010, BS EN 61557, and EMC (BS EN 61326) compliant.
